Bullying - Pets and People (NEW! ) Gr. 7-9

In this interactive empathy building program, students learn about the connection between bulling and animal cruelty. Students soon warm up to discussing this difficult topic since we begin by focusing on animal welfare. By evaluating scenarios of abusive behavior in a group activity, students discover that views on abuse can vary substantially and that they have the power to create an atmosphere of acceptance in their school.  Alberta Learning Curriculum Connections

Exotics in a Domestic World (NEW!) Gr. 8 Ethics

Ethical decision making is of vital importance when we are dealing with animals that are becoming endangered or extinct on a daily basis.  This lecture focuses on the exotic pet trade, animals in entertainment and endangerment of species.  Presentation includes PowerPoint slide show and an ethical decision making exercise to allow children to come to their own conclusions by providing them with the facts of wild animals living in a domestic world.  Alberta Learning Curriculum Connections

Careers with Animals (NEW!) Gr. 8-12

Students will discover that there are many avenues to fulfill a dream of working with animals.  This presentation explores the different careers available and volunteer opportunities that young people can pursue.
