The Calgary Humane Society is proud to offer our new, customizable, half-day field trip program for students in Kindergarten through Grade 12! Students get the opportunity to learn while connecting with animals, completing fun activities and checking out the only fully open-admission animal shelter in Southern Alberta!
Teachers are able to build the perfect field trip from the ground up using our selection guide! Choose from any of our classroom presentations, select a grr-eat animal guest and top your day off with a fun and interactive activity led by our highly trained Humane Education staff! Potential activities include: creating foraging toys for shelter animals, investigating a simulated animal cruelty call, solving a clever dog-napping or even painting with one of our talented animal artists!
The total cost for our field trip program is only $175

We also provide tablecloths that can be spread out for "picnic" style lunches on the floor if desired.)

(Left: Create a cool foraging toy for our rabbits! Center: Marigold enjoys her foraging toy. Students have the opportunity to observe rabbits playing with the toys after making them. Right: One of our shelter "animal artists" shows off her painting skills. Each student will make a "Paw-Casso" greeting card to take home!)
