We are putting out an urgent request for hard plastic kennels of all shapes and sizes to help transport animals displaced by the wildfire in Fort McMurray.
We had requested 300 kennels this morning and now another call has come in for 600 more.
Time is critical as we need to get these kennels to those affected as soon as possible. If you can help please drop off any kennels you are able to donate to: Calgary Humane Society: 4455 110 Avenue SE.
UPDATE (7:00PM): Due to the tremendous generosity of Calgarians and Southern Albertans we have hit the 600 mark for kennels and then some!
Thank you to everyone who has brought us kennels, supplies, food, and support. We no longer need plastic kennels or supplies at this time.
We are waiting to hear from rescue groups in the Fort McMurray area as to future needs and will update our website and social media accordingly.
Thank you to everyone who helped us meet this goal in such a short amount of time. We are truly grateful.
Our hearts go out to those affected by the wildfire in Fort McMurray. We have offered our support to those impacted by the fire and are working closely with Edmonton Humane Society, Red Deer and District SPCA, Cochrane Humane Society and several other animal rescue groups in the Fort McMurray area.
