We Cannot Do This Work Alone
Thousands of homeless pets have received the care, medical attention and, more importantly, the hope they so desperately needed because of the tremendous support we receive from people like YOU!
Calgary Humane Society is an “open admission” shelter, which means we never turn an animal away. I am sure you can imagine the tremendous amount of time, energy and commitment it takes to continue our open-door policy with the number of dogs, cats, rabbits, and critters who arrive at our facility daily.
2019 has already been very challenging and with our intake numbers soaring, we are on pace to exceed last year’s number by approximately 550 animals. Unfortunately, our work never ends at the shelter as we are currently close to capacity with more animals arriving each day. Additionally, we are seeing a growing number of complex medical cases which require significant time and resources for diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
“Tripod Teddy” is a warm and gentle little cat who arrived at the shelter after falling six floors from an apartment balcony. Read all about Teddy’s remarkable story of rehabilitation and resiliency, as well as all the other stories in our 2020 calendar, available by donation at our Pet Gear Store.
Animals like Molly, Athena and Teddy were all given a second chance and are now living a great life with their new families. This is only because of the heart-felt support we receive from caring people like you!
We cannot do this work alone! In order to continue providing the medical attention, nutrition, enrichment and care for the ever-increasing number of homeless animals, we need your help! Please consider making a one-time gift, or becoming a member of our PAWS monthly donor program today.
