Meet Pumpernickel, a sweet, gentle boy in search of his forever! Found as a stray, we don't know much about his past, but he's being very brave while he waits for his people. The shelter is overwhelming for him, but once he feels safe, Pumpernickel warms up quickly and becomes incredibly affectionate, gently leaning or rubbing up against the people he trusts. He's still figuring out what it means to just *be* a dog, so he'll thrive with patient adopters who can help him gain confidence and feel secure. Because he can be a little unsure in new situations, a home with older kids who understand dog body language would be best. We're not sure how he would do with other animals, so slow introductions would be key. We can assure you that Pumpernickel is made of love, but there's still one secret ingredient that he's missing - you! The yeast (er, least) you can do is come and say hello, and perhaps you'll find that Pumpernickel is just what you've been craving!
