Meet Punkin! This scrappy little bundle of personality has had quite the hard start to life, so she needs a dedicated, quiet family to help her continue on the path to becoming a perfect cat companion!

When Punkin first came to the shelter, she was extremely stressed and would hiss and swat at anyone that passed by her kennel. However, with patience, training, and tasty tasty treats, Punkin has shown that she was just scared from all of the big changes and frustrated by the lack of attention. She's learned now that when she's afraid, as loud noises or fast movements still startle her, she can run away to her safe places instead of lashing out; Punkin's also figured out that she doesn't have to use her claws to ask for things like playtime or pets! With her ability to learn quickly and eagerness to work for yummy treats, you may even be able to train her to do basic tricks! All this to say, when given the chance, Punkin is a very sweet, smart kitty that thrives with extra playtime and enrichment, and can be an absolute purr machine!

Because Punkin is a high energy but cowardly kitty, it's recommended that she goes to a quiet, calm home with adults that know how to read cat body language and can give her the space she needs to decompress. This also means that she will need a family without young kids as they are too rambunctious for her! If you have a soft spot for cats that need extra love before they show their true purrsonalities, then Punkin just may be the kitty for you!
