Max is a 1 year old male Large Mixed Breed who weighs 57 pounds.

Meet Max, a fun-loving, high-energy pup with a loveable personality! This cutie is looking for an active family who can keep up with his playful spirit and give him plenty of exercise, enrichment, and opportunities to learn.

This smart boy is very food-motivated and eager to please, making him a great candidate for ongoing positive reinforcement training. He's still working on his leash skills and learning to stay calm when exciting things pass by, but with consistency (and edible rewards), walks will eventually feel like a breeze. Max has a bit of separation stress and would benefit with a solid routine, structure and distractions when left alone. He is also very adventurous and may find his way out of your yard if you're not paying attention!

Max gets along with everyone, but he gets especially wiggly and excited around kids and would likely do best with older children who can match his enthusiasm. He's lived with other dogs before and may enjoy a canine companion. He's also met cats, though he found them pretty exciting and chase-able, so any feline friends should be used to having a dog around.

At the end of the day, Max is a total softie. When it's time to wind down, he will trot over to you with his floppy ears and wagging tail and try to wiggle his way into your lap for bum scratches! He just wants to be with his people, and we're all hoping you'll come visit him soon!
