Rex is a 6 years, 1 month old male Border Collie/Mix who weighs 37 pounds.

Meet Rex, a handsome middle-aged Border Collie who is doing an amazing job of overcoming his fears! This lovely boy is friendly with most new people and, once he feels comfortable, will greet you with a happy smile and eagerly lean in for scratches. He loves to play and have fun, and will keep your life entertaining! While he's making wonderful progress, certain men, sudden movements, and loud noises can still make him nervous, so having a patient family who will continue building his confidence at his own pace will be important!

Rex is crate trained, has excellent recall, and has been known to be social with other dogs, so he may enjoy sharing his home with a calm canine companion. He's lived around children before, but respectful teenagers who understand him would be the best fit. We are not sure how he would do with cats or small animals, meaning slow introductions would be key! Due to a history of tummy troubles, Rex is on a hypoallergenic diet and receives regular vitamin B12 injections to keep him feeling his best, and his new family should be prepared to continue this care.

Brave, sweet, and incredibly deserving, Rex is ready to find a family who will love him just as he is!
