Introducing Kai, a sweet, gentle girl looking for her forever home. Kai has been pretty nervous in shelter with all the new noises, people and smells, but underneath her shy exterior is a cuddly, goofy girl waiting to shine! Her ideal home would be relatively calm and would give her the patience she needs to gain confidence. Kai lived with a few kids prior to coming into our care, but due to her nervous nature, any future adopters with children should be supervising and coaching them on appropriate interactions to keep everyone happy.

If you have a cat (or a few!), Kai might be the perfect canine addition due to her history of living successfully with them in her previous home! She spent time with them either grooming or playing and would likely do well with another feline friend going forward. Her love of smaller animals doesn't extend to the outdoors, though! Kai has a prey drive and will chase squirrels, birds and other critters on walks.

Kai also lived with a large doggy friend, but she showed a tendency to resource guard food. If you have a resident pup at home, it will be extremely important to manage and supervise all interactions, as well as feeding both dogs in separate spaces to keep the peace. On walks, Kai has also displayed some dog reactivity, so she may be selective about what kind of dog she gets along with.

On top of all this, Kai is also incredibly smart and knows quite a few tricks! She will gladly sit, stay, lay down, shake or spin, but for a price - treats! It could take a bit of trust building before she feels comfortable enough to show off her skills, but once she does, you won't be able to get enough of the cuteness! We know that with the right family, Kai will once again be the outgoing, snuggly, loyal girl we know she can be. Could she be the newest addition to your family?
