Fabian is a 6 years old male Short Coat Chihuahua/Mix who weighs 7 pounds.

Fabian may be a little shy at first, but underneath that nervous exterior is a sweet little lap dog waiting to shine! Found as a stray, we don't know much about his past, so he'll need a patient family willing to give him the time and space he needs to feel safe.

Once Fabian decides you're a safe person, his whole personality starts to show! He'll lean into pets, jump into your lap for scratches, and show you just how affectionate he can be. He's a lower-energy guy who enjoys leisurely walks and may have a few zoomies here and there, but he prefers to spend most of his time snuggled up with his people.

Fabian would do best either with older children who understand dog body language and respect boundaries or with adults only. We are unsure about his thoughts on sharing space with other animals, so slow introductions are a must. On walks, Fabian has shown reactivity towards other dogs, but this doesn't necessarily mean he can't have a companion! We would just have to do introductions to be safe. He has also shown some separation-related anxiety here at the shelter, so a home where someone is around most of the time would be ideal. Additionally, Fabian is currently missing several teeth and may need another dental in the future due to his small mouth conformation and age.

Give this little guy some time to come out of his shell, and you'll discover a wonderful companion!
