Alfie is a 2 years old male Havanese/Mix who weighs 22 pounds.

Meet the adorable Alfie! Alfie is a sweet little dog who is looking for a patient, understanding family who can help him feel safe and confident. The shelter can be overwhelming for nervous pups, so we know there's so much more to Alfie's personality than what we've been able to see here! Once comfortable, he's snuggly, affectionate, and loves being close to his people.

Alfie can feel worried around strangers and other animals, and may react when he's scared. He'll need a dog-savvy home committed to giving him time, space, and continued positive-reinforcement training. He has done well with calm, respectful dogs when introduced properly. His history with cats is unknown, though he reacts to them on walks. Alfie would do best with no young children, but may do well with dog-savvy older children who understand his need for space. He has displayed some resource guarding behaviours around food. Due to his breed mix, regular grooming is needed, with muzzle use at grooming and vet appointments.

Alfie is cuddly and playful with people he trusts, and he's reliably crate trained for the times when he needs to be alone! Alfie is a special boy ready to find his safe place; could that be with you?
