Meet Chewbacca, a curious, clever boy who is ready to explore the galaxy with a family of his own!
Chewbacca is an engaged and food-motivated guy who loves exploring his surroundings and putting his nose to work. He already has a great sit and will happily show it off when treats are involved! He settles nicely once he's had a chance to take everything in, enjoys connecting with his people, and handles his walking equipment like a champ.
Out on walks, Chewbacca can get excited or uncomfortable when he sees unfamiliar people or other dogs and may bark or pull toward them. The good news is that he's responsive to his handler, can be redirected, and recovers well once he has some distance. Continuing to build his confidence and leash skills through positive reinforcement will help make walks more enjoyable for everyone.
Chewbacca is looking for a family ready to keep his clever mind busy, give him plenty of opportunities to sniff and explore, and continue helping him navigate the world successfully. In return, you'll get a fun companion who's ready for his next big adventure!

A little bit about Chewbacca:
Kids: Unknown history with children. All interactions should be carefully supervised by an adult.
Cats/Small Animals: Previously lived with two cats and a caged bird. All introductions should be done slowly over multiple sessions and carefully supervised.
Dogs: Unknown history with other dogs. Potential to live with a select dog pending a successful dog-to-dog introduction.

Note that many dogs do not reach full size until they are about a year and a half old. The weight listed here is the dog's current weight.
