Donating Supplies
Another great way you can support Calgary Humane Society is by donating pet supplies. Due to limited space and animal health restrictions, we do not accept donations outside of the following:
Used:
- Towels
- Blankets
- Flat Sheets
- Dog harnesses
New:
- Unexpired & Unopened Animal Food
- Animal Treats
- Cat Litter Pans
- Animal Toys
- Dog harnesses
- Leashes
- Collars
- Crates

If you have pet supplies you’d like to donate but aren’t sure if they’re useful or appropriate, please contact us at general.inquiries@calgaryhumane.ca before you make a trip to the shelter.
Gift Cards
Gift cards are another helpful way you can support Calgary Humane Society. We appreciate donations of gift cards from the following types of stores:
Grocery stores
We use these to purchase fruit and veggies for our rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, and exotic animals who have special dietary needs.
Large retail stores like Walmart, Canadian Tire and Superstore
We use these to purchase miscellaneous supplies like weigh scales, batteries, and shelter equipment.
Pet supply stores
These are particularly helpful for foster parents whose animals require crickets and worms for their meals. Also, these stores can provide specialty items like heat lamps for reptiles or water pumps for aquariums that aren’t available elsewhere.
Donate Your Vehicle
Did you know you can donate your vehicle to Calgary Humane Society? Our partners at www.donatecar.ca will coordinate everything, all you need to do with your unwanted vehicle is fill out a form online and either drop off the vehicle or have it towed at your convenience. These types of Calgary Humane Society donations are tax deductible, and you will receive a tax receipt if you choose this option.
Donate your Recyclables
Now you can a help the animals by donating the refund of your recyclables through SkipTheDepot or Trail Bottle Depot! It’s an easy way to help the environment by recycling and helping animals in your community.
All the deposit money from your bottles will be donated for you, and since Calgary Humane Society is a registered charity, your donation is tax deductible—you’ll receive a tax receipt at the end of the year.

We love opening packages, especially when they are for our animals.

send them directly to the shelter for our animal care teams to open.
