Education for Parents and Kids
Education is an important part of how we work toward our purpose of creating a more humane world. By teaching children about the importance of treating the world around them with empathy and compassion, we’re one step closer to a kinder world. We educate youth on responsible pet ownership and violence prevention in conjunction with larger lessons on human rights, environmental preservation, and animal protection.
Day Camps
These interactive experiences offer youth a chance to learn about responsible pet care, proper animal handling, and future job opportunities at Calgary Humane Society.
Youth Clubs
The goal of our youth clubs is to learn as much as possible about animals. The more we know, the better we are able to be their friends.
Birthday Parties
We offer parties for kids ages 6 – 13 at Calgary Humane Society. Families can book our decorated, age-appropriate party room for two to three hours at a time.

Youth Fundraising
There are several ways that all ages can become involved in helping animals. We offer a number of fun ways for our youth supporters to get involved with raising funds for Calgary Humane Society.

Reading Buddies
Practice reading skills with your youth while they read to our adorable adoptables on the second Sunday of every month!
Book A Tour
With a guided tour behind the scenes at Calgary Humane Society, we can answer kids’ common questions like, “what is a humane society?” and “what kind of animals do you take in?” While many people think they can only visit a humane society to adopt an animal, Calgary Humane Society is a resource for all Calgarians, and we’re happy to welcome all curious visitors.
