This young Hermann's tortoise came to us through no fault of his own and after some TLC, this adventurous little guy is ready to crawl his way into your heart and home! He was described by his previous foster parent as a curious little guy that loved the opportunity to stretch his legs during supervised free-roam time. However, since Franklin associates hands with food, he tries bite fingers so be careful when handling him!As a Hermann's tortoise, he has some very specific care requirements, such as needing a large enclosure with a substrate that can allow for digging (adults need at least 6 feet by 4 feet enclosures so plan accordingly!); a temperature gradient from 75-86 F with a basking area of 90-95 F; a high fiber, high calcium, low protein herbivorous diet mainly consisting of dark leafy greens, grasses (like Timothy hay), and special vegetable-based tortoise pellets; and hides, enrichment, and items to keep his big tortoise brain busy!If you feel like you can give Franklin everything he needs to stay a happy and healthy little guy, then come say hello to Franklin!
