Working with the community is an invaluable gift that we get at Calgary Humane Society. Third-party fundraisers are an incredible way that people share their support with our mission of animal welfare.

This year, Aubri Poon Photography collaborated with Four Dogs Brewing to host a fundraising initiative for us! What started with an initial goal of raising $10,000 turned into a final total of $87,341!

“As a Calgary dog photographer, I spend every day celebrating the incredible bond between people and their dogs. I also know there are countless dogs, and the people waiting to love them, still searching for that forever connection.

I reached out to fellow local small business owner, Vince Schaeffer, at Four Dogs Brewing with what I thought would be a fun, and slightly ridiculous fundraising idea. What if four lucky dogs became the faces of beer can labels?

Vince didn’t just say yes. He offered to brew a limited-edition Golden Ale specifically for the fundraiser!”

Through Aubri and Vince’s collaboration, the Furever Golden (T)ale Beer Label Contest was developed. Calgarians entered their own beloved dogs into the contest and generously donated to our animal shelter.

Third-party fundraisers like this change the lives of so many dogs, cats, rabbits, and our other cute critters!
The funds raised contribute directly to our community programs, animal health, humane education, animal protection, and, of course, to the overall care and well-being of our animals.

It is truly inspiring to see the lengths that Calgarians will go to for the animals in our city.

There is so much creativity and passion in every fundraiser that is hosted. From bake sales and online streams to birthdays and charity walks, single ideas can reach hundreds of animals.
