Luka is currently staying with a foster family, please contact the Adoption Department at adopt@calgaryhumane.ca for additional information. We work on a first come first serve basis, and will set up meet and greets with interested adopters in the order we receive them. Our team will be in contact with you as soon as possible to update you on where we are in the meet and greet process of the animal you are interested in. Please do not book an appointment using the online calendar as that is reserved for animals available for adoption on-site.

Hi there, my name is Luka! I am pretty much a rock-star and I know it! I am also adorable as you can see. Ok, maybe I need to work on my humility, but I doubt it. My foster parents love my curious & quirky personality. I often catch them out of the corner of my eye watching in amazement and awe. I think they might be a little jealous of my youthful enthusiasm coupled with carefree abandonment. I am still learning that the world does not revolve around me. Or does it?

I don't do well with skittish cats as my breed has a tendency to get overly excited and chase them. But my foster parents have two cats and they are helping me learn about something called boundaries. They say I still need some work. I love love LOVE playing with hoomans and other dogs too. BUT if they are small and fragile I can be a bit too rambunctious even if they tell me to stop. So it's likely best that I have playmates or live with other dogs that can match my size, energy and enthusiasm.

I am incredibly smart, and did I forget to mention that I am a rock-star? I have certain requests that need to be fulfilled before I give my talents to you. Being a rock-star requires a very scheduled life. And if my needs are not meet then I can be a bit of a diva to get your attention. So please stick to my rules

1) I need to be walked every day, and I love doing zoomies outside. If these needs are not met then I will have to perfect my talents inside by doing hardcore parkour on the furniture, hallways, people, pets, you get the picture.

2) I don't follow fad diets. But to keep my handsome figure, I need to be careful with what I eat otherwise I can have tummy troubles. Also, I can give in to temptations, So please do not leave anything edible laying around or that I can easily access.

3) As I already mentioned I am VERY smart, so I need a lot of games and toys to play with and chew on so I don't get bored. When I'm bored I may find things to nibble on. My foster parents will provide you with my favorites.

4) I LOVE tug-o-war and am getting extremely good at it.
