Meet the mellow Harriet, the red-eared slider! This common turtle species have been called "world travelers" because they have been introduced to every continent on Earth except Antarctica! Harriet isn't looking to travel that far, though! After being surrendered by her previous owner, she's just looking to set up shop in a spacious new tank of her own with room to swim, bask under her heating lamp, and maybe chase down an invertebrate or two for dinner. A proper turtle set-up will require a cycled aquarium with a haul-out or basking area, as well as a heat lamp, UVB bulb, thermometers and water heater. Harriet will need at least 90 gallons of water for her size, but bigger is always better!
